The Aftermarket – SD1 Sample Pack is the most comprehensive and functional collection of Ensoniq SD-1 sounds available, capturing the essence and versatility of this historic synthesizer. Originating from Ensoniq’s impressive lineage of digital synthesizers, the SD-1 builds on the legacy of the ESQ-1, SQ-80, and VFX series, known for their innovative use of Transwave™ wavetable synthesis. The SD-1 could produce various acoustic, electric, digital, and analog-like sounds, utilizing waveform modulation and advanced synth parameters, such as dual multi-mode digital filters and multi-stage envelopes. This extensive sample pack offers deeply multi-sampled sounds derived directly from the SD-1, including the iconic factory presets contributing to its legendary status. In addition to these classic tones, the library contains variations of each sampled keymap, meticulously programmed by us at SoundEngine, ensuring a broad sonic palette suitable for a wide range of musical applications.

Leveraging advanced sampling techniques, the Aftermarket – SD-1 Sample Pack was crafted with precision and care. Every sample was recorded using a 24-bit A/D conversion through a PreSonus StudioLive console at a 48kHz sample rate, capturing the full dynamic range and subtleties of the original sounds. These samples underwent editing and looping in Wavelab, followed by further refinement using Izotope RX7 to ensure the highest-quality audio output. The result is an astounding collection of over 8,800 24-bit samples, and more than 330 presets. Each sound has been carefully crafted with additional variations in Logic Sampler /EXS, enhancing the sonic possibilities.

Recognizing the importance of organization and accessibility, the Aftermarket – SD1 Sample Pack categorizes its sounds by type rather than the original order from the SD-1. This thoughtful arrangement facilitates easy navigation and quick access to desired sounds. Folder names such as “AP Acoustic Piano,” “GT Guitar,” and “KY Keyboard” allow users to efficiently locate the specific sound type they need, enhancing speed and creativity during the music production process.
