Over the years, I’ve been fascinated by the K4’s unique Digital Multi Spectrum synthesis. The filters sound great, and at it’s core, the wave ROM design is spot on – a Kawai strength. Its innovative approach – splitting 16-bit samples across ROM chips and reserving a dedicated chip for 8-bit noise samples – created a sound palette that was simultaneously industrial and musical. They’re the secret weapon in this collection.

This comprehensive library, using the SoundEngine’s Waveform Machining process, captures over 3,150 meticulously sampled 24-bit sounds, representing more than 160 carefully crafted presets. Recorded through a PreSonus StudioLive console at 48 kHz and refined in Wavelab and Izotope RX11, each sample preserves the K4’s characteristic digital texture while offering modern electronic music-making flexibility via Logic Sampler/EXS.

Organized for intuitive exploration, the sample pack features folders like “AP Acoustic Piano,” “GT Guitar,” and “KY Keyboard.” We’ve moved beyond the K4’s original numeric naming, creating an easy-to-navigate library that lets you quickly dial in exactly the sound you’re seeking.
